Papyrus Guesthouse is a small cosy lodge in the suburbs of Entebbe, about 15 minutes from Entebbe International Airport. It is an excellent choice for safari travellers who hope to relax in Entebbe after their international flight.
When ‘forced’ to stay in Entebbe due to unexpected flight connection delays, your stay at Papyrus becomes an unexpected holiday highlight. The Guest House’s central location allows for some exciting guided activities, like hiking, shopping, golfing, boat rides, birding, and sightseeing, all reached within a reasonable time.
The guesthouse is eco-friendly, with charming gardens to give guests a relaxed and private stay. The Papyrus theme is to provide you with confidence in what you’ll find in the countryside. Travel with confidence because facemasks and hand washing are mandatory in public places to protect you from COVID-19 infections. All garden rooms have private entrances to reduce contact with other guests. And there’s an in-house chef with a varied continental menu to keep you fed.

Activities
Entebbe offers a great introduction to Uganda’s inland attractions. The legendary Jane Goodall operates a chimpanzee sanctuary on a nearby Ngamba Island. If you won’t visit the primate capital jungles, visit the islands, and meet orphaned chimps, it is a great alternative. UWEC zoo and the botanical gardens are also close by for a great introduction to Uganda’s wildlife. A canoe boat ride in Mabamba Swamps, where one of the world’s most amazing birds, the shoebill, finds refuge, is a must-visit for birders. Modern shopping malls, local markets, upmarket restaurants, and bars are all within walking distance of Papyrus.
End the day with sundowners on the magnificent Lake Victoria. A breeze whispers through the air, cool and soothing, as you motor through the lake winds and sip a refreshing cocktail. The evening is yours.
